Project title
The Association of Soppo Baptist Ex-Students (ASOBEXS) was founded on 18 February 1982, when a small group of visionary former students of the Baptist Teachers Training College (BTTC) gathered at the residence of Mr. Nwanosike E. O. in Munangai Quarters, Buea. United by a shared passion for their alma mater, they envisioned an association that would bring together alumni from every stage of the school's history—from PTC and ETC to BTTC, BBSS, and later BHS Buea—under one family with a common purpose and future.
Through months of planning and collaboration, the founders developed the framework for the new association, attracting the support of students, staff, and former students from the various generations. Their dedication culminated in the maiden General Assembly held on 22 May 1982, where the name Association of Soppo Baptist Ex-Students (ASOBEXS) was officially adopted, alongside the Association's motto, "Truth, Unity and Service." The first constitution and emblem were also unveiled, laying the foundation for what has become one of Cameroon's most vibrant alumni associations.
