Baptist High School (BHS) Buea is a distinguished coeducational institution located in Great Soppo, Buea, the capital of Cameroon’s South West Region. Founded by the Cameroon Baptist Convention, the school provides quality secondary and high school education, combining academic excellence with Christian values to nurture well-rounded, responsible, and purpose-driven young leaders.
The institution is built on a rich and enduring history that dates back to 1950. Over the decades, it has evolved to meet the changing educational needs of the nation, transitioning from the Probationary Training Center (PTC) (1950–1955), to the Elementary Training Center (ETC) (1955–1958), the Baptist Teachers Training College (BTTC) (1958–1973), the Baptist Boys Secondary School (BBSS) (1975–1985), and finally to Baptist High School (BHS) Buea in 1985. Today, BHS Buea proudly continues this legacy, upholding a tradition of excellence, faith, leadership, and service that has shaped generations of students.
