Our Achievements
For over four decades, ASOBEXS has remained committed to the growth and development of Baptist High School Buea. Through the collective efforts of alumni, classes, branches, and individual members, the Association has successfully delivered projects that have improved learning, student welfare, infrastructure, and community life. These achievements reflect the enduring spirit of service and the unwavering commitment of ASOBEXSIANS to giving back to their alma mater.
Infrastructure Development
ASOBEXS has spearheaded and supported numerous infrastructure projects that have transformed the school environment, including:
Construction and equipping of the Staff Room.
Construction of the school perimeter fence.
Renovation of the Administrative Block, Auditorium, and Staff Room.
Construction of a mini grandstand at the school field.
Construction of a borehole to improve water supply.
Development of the ICT Laboratory.
Construction of a modern toilet facility in the Boys' Camp.
Rehabilitation of washrooms in the Boys' Dormitories.
Installation of solar-powered security lights across the campus.
Academic Support
Committed to enhancing teaching and learning, ASOBEXS has invested in educational facilities and resources by:
Constructing the Geology Laboratory.
Rehabilitating the Biology Laboratory.
Donating benches to improve classroom learning.
Supporting the annual Prize Award Ceremony with gifts for outstanding students.
Student Welfare & Campus Life
The Association has continually invested in projects that improve student welfare and enrich school life, including:
Initiating a major Boys' Dormitory project.
Donating sports equipment through various alumni classes.
Providing complete school band uniforms.
Supporting recreational and sporting facilities for students.
Strengthening the ASOBEXS Identity
Beyond infrastructure, ASOBEXS has built a strong alumni identity through initiatives that unite generations of former students:
Creation and adoption of the official ASOBEXS fabric, now recognized as a symbol of pride and belonging within the Soppo Baptist community.
Establishment of the ASOBEXS Sports Fiesta, bringing together alumni from different generations through sports and fellowship.
Development of the ASOBEXS Anthem, reinforcing the Association's shared identity and heritage.
Celebrating Our Legacy
In 2025, ASOBEXS successfully organized the landmark 75th Anniversary Celebration of BHS Buea, bringing together more than 1,000 alumni from across generations. The event significantly increased the visibility of the school and strengthened alumni engagement both nationally and internationally.
